A grassroots social initiative to increase customer engagement and Walmart.com apparel sales.
Challenge: Breakdown the cache surrounding Walmart apparel and shift perceptions about what you will find when shopping at Walmart, while increasing social engagement, omni channel strategies, and unique customer acquisition.
Solution: To create a grassroots Instagram campaign "#WEARWALMART" where individuals and influencers shared their personal styling of Walmart apparel using the hashtag "WEARWALMART." We then linked these images back to the product pages and tracked the conversion rates of these product pages and items.
Results: 5X increase in conversation rates and outpaced other existing engagement platforms in just the first quarter.
